La Follia

La Follia will be presenting La serva padrona (The Servant Mistress), an opera buffa by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi (1710–1736) to a libretto by Gennaro Antonio Federico. This performance is co-sponsored by Concerts on Carter Creek.

Biography:

La Follia Austin Baroque performs music from the time of Bach, Handel and Vivaldi as they performed it using instruments and performance styles appropriate to the period. The Austin American-Statesman has lauded La Follia for its "Fine playing, excellent scholarship, and communicative interpretations." Whether performing the music of the masters or the music of more obscure composers, La Follia always strives to educate, to entertain, and most of all, to inspire.
